Made New Electronic Leader Kit

MADE NEW  | About this Study

Thank you for your commitment to leading a "Made New" group! We believe this study will be transformative for both you and your group members as you journey through the Book of Ephesians together. Your leadership is instrumental in creating a thriving community that embodies our core value of "Life change happens best in relationships."

Whether you are leading a new or existing group, we pray that your group bonds together and each member goes deeper in their personal faith while you go through this study together.

Made New  is a 6-week study that has been designed to coincide with the sermon series we will be going through as a church.

The study includes several components to enrich your group's experience:

Daily Devotionals: Throughout the week, participants will have the opportunity to dive deeper into the Book of Ephesians with daily devotionals written by staff and pastors from The Crossing. These devotionals will help group members connect with the biblical themes explored in the study.

Discussion Questions: Each week, you'll find discussion questions related to the sermon series and daily devotionals. These questions are designed to foster meaningful conversations within your group, promoting deeper understanding and personal reflection.

Podcast: To enhance your learning experience, we will have a short podcast that complements the weekly messages. This podcast will provide additional insights, commentary, and perspectives related to the themes discussed in the Book of Ephesians.

We are praying that your group experiences spiritual growth, strengthened relationships, and a deeper understanding of God's Word during this study. We are here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Tips and Resources as You Lead

As you embark on this new study journey, we're here to provide guidance for navigating common challenges in group dynamics.

1. Foster Inclusivity:
  • Create a welcoming and safe environment where everyone feels valued and accepted.
  • Encourage active participation by asking open-ended questions and inviting quieter members to share.

2. Facilitate Meaningful Discussions:
  • Guide discussions with a balance between sharing personal insights and staying on topic.
  • Encourage respectful dialogue where members listen to each other's perspectives.

3. Practice Active Listening:
  • Model active listening by giving your full attention to each member during discussions.
  • Reflect back on what you've heard to show understanding and encourage deeper conversations.
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding when members share their thoughts and feelings.

4. Cultivate Authentic Relationships:
  • Encourage members to connect outside of group meetings, fostering deeper friendships.
  • Organize social events or activities to help members bond and build meaningful relationships.

5. Handle Conflict with Grace:
  • Address conflicts promptly and privately, promoting open communication and resolution.
  • Emphasize understanding over judgment, and guide members towards reconciliation.
  • Use conflicts as opportunities for growth and learning within the group.

6. Encourage Spiritual Growth:
  • Prioritize group prayer, Bible study, and reflection to nurture members' spiritual development. It is helpful to follow the Rooted timeline structure by implementing a time of prayer in place of going through the study material.
  • Support members' individual journeys and growth in their relationship with God.

7. Delegate and Share Responsibilities:
  • Empower members by involving them in leading discussions, hosting meetings, or organizing activities.
  • Distribute leadership tasks to create a sense of ownership and shared responsibility.

8. Be Flexible and Adaptable:
  • Understand that group dynamics and needs may evolve over time.
  • Be open to adjusting meeting times, formats, or study materials to better suit the group's preferences.

9. Lead by Example:
  • Model the behaviors and attitudes you expect from group members, including punctuality, respect, and engagement.
  • Show vulnerability by sharing your own struggles and growth experiences.
