After years of praying and searching, we have finally found the permanent home we've been looking for in the Southeast part of the Las Vegas Valley in one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. The Crossing Highlands is becoming The Crossing Henderson.

The Vision

We see a church in Henderson deeply connected to its community, where people build meaningful relationships, grow in Christ together, and help others discover Jesus and the journey.

Vision & Why

After spending several years looking for potential locations throughout Southern Las Vegas, we sensed God beginning to lead us to Henderson as it is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. We believe we can make an impact in this part of our city with existing Crossing families and helping people discover Jesus and the journey.
The Crossing’s vision is that everyone in Southern Nevada would have access to spiritually healthy, Bible-based, outreach-focused churches. We do this by planting churches, partnering with churches, and creating Crossing campuses. A Henderson location helps us impact a large part of our city.

Identity & Culture

Henderson is a campus of The Crossing. It will share the same vision, mission, teaching, and values. You can expect an amazing building with great kid’s environments, worship space, and lots of parking! We’re excited to be a church that is part of the community and for the community - a place where people and families from across the area can find connection, purpose, and a place to call home.

Leadership

Pastor Jeff Kiwanuka has called Henderson home since 2006. He originally moved from Ohio to play poker, but God has something different in mind. By the end of the year, Jeff became a Christian, started volunteering with junior high students, and eventually found his way into full-time ministry.

Jeff is married to his wife, Amy, and together they have three girls 13, 11, and 7. They keep Jeff and Amy on their toes, but they’ve been one of the greatest gifts of their lives.

After more than a decade in ministry, Jeff joined The Crossing in 2019, where he has served as the Next Gen Pastor.

Jeff loves football, spending time with people, and even more, dissecting the complexities of Scripture with others. He feels incredibly blessed to do ministry full time and is excited for all the Lord still has in store.

Timeline

Our goal is to launch in early 2027.
It will take multiple months of renovation to prepare the building. As we get closer to the launch and understand when people can enter the building, we will give clear direction. Our desire is for anyone that is moving to the Henderson location to see the building as soon as possible.

Kids & Students

We will have Kid’s Crossing environments available every Sunday for birth through 5th graders. Additionally, we are talking with families to discern the details of our student ministry launch. We will keep you updated as we decide.

Serving & Launch Team

We would love to begin our Henderson location with excitement and energy. We are creating a launch team to help with events, planning, inviting and more. This team will meet twice a month, separate from Sunday service for special updates and next steps.

Existing Highlands Attendees

Our prayer is to begin the Henderson location with 300 people.

Community Impact

Over the next six months, we will be meeting with local community leaders to better understand the needs of that area. Our plan is to host community events, support local schools, and find ways our church can uniquely love the neighborhood. We will also be looking at opportunities to support local non-profits in that area. Join us in praying, processing, or suggesting a great ministry partner.
