Come From Away is based on the true story of Gander, Newfoundland. On September 11, 2001, 38 planes carrying thousands of passengers were diverted to Gander's airstrip, and a small town suddenly hosted the world. Despite culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander welcomed the stranded travelers with music, an open bar, and the reminder that we are all part of one global family.

The show has a score by Irene Sankoff and David Hein and has earned 37 award nominations with 13 wins, including Best New Musical at the 2019 Olivier Awards and Outstanding Musical at the 2017 Drama Desk Awards. Run time is about 2 hours.
