Family Promise

March 31 - April 7  |  The Crossing Windmill Campus

7950 West Windmill Lane, Las Vegas, NV, United States

The Crossing partners with Family Promise of Las Vegas to host families at our church campus four times per year. The families that stay with us are in the process of transitioning out of homelessness and back into permanent housing. Family Promise also interviews, background checks, and drug tests each of the families to ensure they’re going to be a good fit for the program before bringing them to stay with us.

For an entire week, volunteers from The Crossing serve families by providing overnight housing and meals during their time of transition. These families spend the nights at our church and their days interviewing for jobs, attending classes, and making the adjustment to a more stable future. While they stay with us, we typically house between 8-15 people total at a time, which includes both parents and their kids.

Jump in and sign up to volunteer with us and serve these families while they’ll be staying at our church!

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Meal providers: Pick a day and meal to provide for the families staying with us.
  • Breakfast or lunch providers: Drop off the meals during office hours the day before they sign up for.
  • Dinner providers: Bring a meal at 5:45PM the day you’ve signed up for and spend some time sharing that meal with the families.

Overnight hosting:
Spending the evening at the church with the families to build relationships, be available to call Family Promise staff or our church staff if something comes up, and be available to help out wherever is necessary to ensure everyone has a great stay. We provide you with food, your own room to sleep in, and an air mattress to sleep on. There is also a mandatory training that volunteers must go through before overnight hosting as well. Hosts are required to be here from 5PM-7AM the following morning.

Thank you so much for serving with us to make an impact in our community by showing love to people going through a tough time.
