Share the Season

“Thanks to your continued generosity this year, we were able to launch our Southeast campus, see nearly 500 people publicly declare their faith in Christ through baptism, renovate our Children’s space to better serve the needs of the next generation, respond to tragedy in our community and around the world, and so much more! We would like to invite you to continue in this spirit of generosity as we prepare to “Share the Season.”

Christmas Give

During the holiday season, we bring hope and joy by sharing our God-given gifts with our friends, neighbors, and surrounding communities. This year, for “Share the Season” we have committed to coming alongside our church community and our local partners– WestCare, Head Start, and HopeLink–to help bring joy to thousands of children and their families who can use help this Christmas.

Option #1: TOY DRIVE

We will provide toys and clothing for parents to give to their children. Our gifts will provide parents the opportunity to “shop” for their children in a store-like setting. They can then place their personally chosen gifts under their tree. On Sunday, December 3, you will be able to select an ornament with a printed age group for your gift. You will then return your gifts on Sunday, December 10. Wrapping won’t be necessary, as parents will be selecting gifts in a store-like setting and wrapping the gifts themselves.

Option #2: GIFT CARDS

We are collecting gift cards to assist families in need here at The Crossing. Buy a gift card from places like Walmart, Target, Chevron, Albertsons, or Smith’s. On Sunday, December 3, you will be able to pick up an envelope for your gift card. Buy gift cards from places like Walmart, Target, Chevron, Albertsons, or Smith’s. On Sunday, December 10, return the gift card in the envelope, indicating the amount of the gift card. These gift cards will be used to assist families in need here at The Crossing.

Christmas Offering

Each year, we receive a Christmas offering to strengthen our local ministry and impact our community partners. We have a few significant needs that depend on year-end giving to accomplish. If you call The Crossing home, would you consider giving a year-end gift so we can continue to make an impact in Las Vegas, and around the world?

As we enter the Christmas Season, we are celebrating what God has done at The Crossing this year.  Below are just some specifics:

  • Almost 500 people publicly declared their faith in Jesus through baptism.
  • 1700 people were involved in small groups this Fall and 600 people attended our conferences.
  • We launched the Southeast Campus where about 250 people attend on a weekly basis and 500 calls this campus their home.
  • Nearly 9,000 people attended Easter services at The Crossing this year.
  • We renovated The Theater and The Venue on the Windmill Campus, which has allowed us to expand our age-specific elementary environments and experiences.
  • Since the horrific tragedy of October 1, we have been able to engage and mobilize our community like never before. Restaurants provide over 1,750 meals, you gave over $16,000 in gift cards, and 1,200 people came together to serve our community for our Heal Las Vegas Serve Weekend.
  • Before the end of the year, we will open a class specifically for children with special needs on the Windmill Campus.
  • We’ve deepened our investment in the next generation by partnering with FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) on local High School campuses.

All of this is possible because of your continued generosity to the cause of Christ at this place! Each year, we receive a Christmas offering to strengthen our local ministry and impact our community partners.  We have a few significant needs that depend on year-end giving to accomplish.  If you call The Crossing home, would you consider giving a year-end gift so we can continue to make an impact in Las Vegas and around the world?

CHURCH PLANTING

In 2000, The Crossing was planted with the generous support of other churches. We know first hand how the local church is the hope of the world and over the years, we have been able to give towards the start and initial growth phase of over 20 churches. This Christmas we are coming alongside three more church plants:

Downtown Faith, Las Vegas, | CenterSet Church, Silicon Valley |
Bay City Church, San Francisco

LOCAL MISSIONS

One of our core values at The Crossing is that effective partnerships promote unity and impact. We intentionally partner with organizations to amplify their impact in our community. Our focus this Christmas is on the next generation. We are partnering with Club Christ, an urban community-based educational ministry working with disadvantaged students in our valley, to launch a new location at Casa de Luz, a local community resource center which serves the Gateway District.

MORE INFO ON THE CHURCHES WE ARE HELPING TO PLANT

This Christmas we are coming alongside the following three church plants:

Downtown Faith, Las Vegas

Jeremy Martin and his family moved downtown with the vision to plant a church that creates space where people could discuss life and faith. Out of that vision, Downtown Faith was born. Starting their first gatherings in January 2017, Downtown Faith is reaching the downtown community through a blend of gatherings, serving, and supporting their local community.

CenterSet Church, Silicon Valley

CenterSet was birthed from the heart of a true techie, as Ali Roohi spent the last 15 years as a software engineer in Silicon Valley. He understands the objections to faith, the general mistrust of organized religion and the annoyance toward judgemental Christians.  Ali, along with several other families, was propelled by a vision to share the simple and timeless truths of Scripture to an intelligent and generally irreligious valley. CenterSet Church launched in September 2017.

Bay City Church, San Francisco

Eddie Williams grew up in the Hunter’s Point area and is returning to plant a church. It has historically been a diverse community with a lot of culture, but generally impoverished. There is a tension in this area between the historically diverse community and the new upper-middle-class tech people that are moving in. Bay City Church hopes to help bridge the gap in this tension with the only thing that can, the Gospel of Jesus. Bay City will officially launch in the fall of 2018.
