I'm Victorious

You’re not fighting for victory, you’re living from victory.

Jesus overcame any condemnation of sin or guilt on the cross. (1-11)
Now you can receive the spirit and my gift of grace. (12-30)
Jesus overcame any condemnation of all worldly or spiritual power on the cross. (31-39)

Romans 8:31 (NIV)
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Leave Up Till Next Slide)

God Is For Us.

John 10:10 (NIV)
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

An abundant life is found when we align our hearts with God’s vision and rest in His love – everything else is just overflow.

You’re not fighting for victory, you’re living from victory.

Romans 8:32 (NIV)
“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

Romans 8:33-34 (NIV)
“Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”

Romans 8:35-36 (NIV)
“Who shall separate us from the love (agape) of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
‘For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’”

Love — Details, Details, Details — Love

“God’s love is the anchor. God is for us – not something to be said casually or cheaply, certainly not a license to go slack on our own faithfulness, but something on which we can rest when the storms are raging, to quiet our hearts when everything seems to be going wrong.” – N.T. Wright Into the Heart of Romans

Roma → Amor

Romans 8:37-39 (NIV)
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

“We Overwhelmingly Conquer”
Hypernikaō

Where do I draw my sense of victory from right now?

Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

ASSURANCE (Put this directly above the verse with it still on screen)

“If God be for us, who can be against us? This is not a question but a challenge. It is not a request for information but a declaration of confidence.” - Charles Spurgeon

You’re not fighting for victory, you’re living from victory.
